His supporting cast feature some real standouts. The camerawork by Laxman Utekar is distinctive. But the film remains tonally inconsistent. The result is a mishmash that left me exhausted and unsatisfied. However, I’m looking forward to Amit’s next film. Tevar is a bumpy start but I think more exciting cinematic adventures lie ahead.

An Agra boy, no mean street-fighter himself, unwittingly gets in the way of the goon's evil designs. Like all Hindi movie heroes, he will not back off once the die is cast no matter how dangerous it is.

Trying to be alot like Dabangg, Tevar has the romance, the dance, the fight and of course good, bad and ugly characters who want to get hold of the girl.

'Tevar', starring Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha, is an exhausting film. The kind that leaves you feeling like you've just run the marathon... but with none of the satisfaction, or the sense of achievement that comes with reaching the finish line.

He's likeable as the local hoodlum, gnashes his teeth with suitable enthusiasm during a fight scene, and the first time he runs into Manoj Bajpayee, he chooses to smash the latter's head into the hood of a jeep with a loud and rather pleasing ‘clang.’

An overstretched climax sequence and a second half that drags. The film is enjoyable in parts and the rest it does not quite manage to keep you hooked to it. Also, a tighter editing would have kept the film shorter, since the storyline is not strong enough to grab your attention for two and half hours.

Director Amit Sharma takes his cue from the Hindu mythology and names his heroine Radhika (Sonakshi Sinha), who is an accomplished dancer. She unknowingly catches the attention of a local don Gajender Singh (Manoj Bajpayee), and thereafter finds herself entangled in a never ending cat-and-mouse game.

It is set in Agra, and  neighbouring Mathura. We know this because we keep getting shots of the Taj Mahal. And the word ‘launda’ pops up every time someone opens their mouth. And that , as people who know the Brijbhoomi well will testify, is a genuine part of the local lingo. For everything else you can blame the Telugu original, whose faithful remake ‘Tevar’ is.

The film is about a boy from Agra named Pintoo (Arjun Kapoor) who is a self-styled Superman. He is always ready to help anyone in distress, mostly damsels. While on a trip out in Mathura with his friends, he spots Radhika (Sonakshi) being dragged by into a car by Gajender Singh (Manoj Bajpai). His intervention leads to a fight in which he slaps Gajender, not knowing that the man he has hit is the most feared man in the vicinity.
