Review By : Saibal Chatterjee Rating : 3/5 Site :NDTV | It paints a portrait of a dysfunctional industrial and residential landscape where outages are a daily, even hourly, occurrence, and it is both engaging and enlightening. Katiyabaaz narrates the compelling story of a feisty, foul-tongued electricity pilferer who is pitchforked into the role of saviour to Kanpur’s ‘needy’ citizens. Visit Site For Full Review |

Review By : Rajeev Masand Rating : NA Site :CNN-IBN | Riveting as it is, there is a tinge of sadness attached to the film. A scene of bickering between Loha Singh and his mother is particularly moving, even if it does feel scripted. Another scene at the end of the film, in which Loha Singh must defend what he does to a dismissive drunken uncle, is heartbreaking. Visit Site For Full Review |

Maheshwari battles lackadaisical approach of her team, the people of Kanpur and politicians all with well meaning intention at heart. At one cue, she says that for a bureaucrat it is easy to merely sign papers but to sit up and change a reluctant system is a war to wage. Visit Site For Full Review |
Review By : Shubhra Gupta Rating : 3/5 Site :Indian Express | The 80 minute documentary is like a passion play between Loha Singh, the thief who thinks of himself as a deliverer of essential goods, and the state electricity supply organization, headed by bureaucrat Ritu Maheshwari. It is the classic tussle between the beleaguered babu trying her best to cut through the decades of inefficiency and lethargy, and the people who are forced to rely upon those who devise ingenuous, and dangerous, ways to beat the system.
